Was given inspection sheet on car after brought into Auto Fair Ford for Oil Change and they were suppose to do a front end alignment. Person came to me hand paper work work to me and said I was all set. Left to go on a trip with car and did not look at paper work until a week later. On from it talked about replacing rear trailing arm bushings and dog bone control arms the car only has about 39,000 miles on it. In look up on sites had noticed on past escapes that they had a recall on this same items. My car is a 2018 Ford Escape. First of all the Ford place I brought the car to should have told me about the problem right away verbally. The trailing arm needs to be looked at on these cars

ENGINE
Potential Consequences:
Greetings, Thank you for taking the time to read my email. I am without transportation. I started experiencing engine coolant fluid leaking into my cylinder side lenders on May 18, 2021. I had the cylinder repaired. Since that date my car continued to overheat. I took my car to approximately 4 mechanics and I was told they did not see any leaks. The four different mechanics could find anything wrong with my car. Due to financial challenges during this pandemic my mother moved in with my two children and myself. We have experienced some challenges however I continued to pay my car payment on time. My car continued to overheat so I only used it to for necessities. I did a lot of research on my car attempting to determine what was going on and eventually on July 2, 2021, I found out my 2018 Ford Escape had been recalled and there was a big class action lawsuit that had been filed against Ford Motor Company over its EcoBoost engine taken in cars produced from 2013 to 2019 it alleges engine coolant is leaking into cylinders this is in addition to an Arkansas lawsuit already filed that includes both owners and lessees of both Ford and Lincoln cars and trucks with EcoBoost engines and alleges the defects results in the engine tendency to overheat cell and catch on fire second period. I was told I was not the original owner and I missed the cut off date.

BACK OVER PREVENTION
Potential Consequences:
2018 Ford Escape SE 4WD with only 15,000 miles experienced a APIM failure resulting in a $1,000+ repair -- only two months outside of 3yr/30,000 mile warranty. Screen went black resulting in radio, navigation, rear view camera and other controls being inoperable. Ford dealer diagnoses APIM failure and recommended replacement. No other solution presented or consideration paid to the relative low-mileage. I have read about other APIM failures and subsequent recalls and would recommend investigating. Thank you.

When I start my car it blows smoke from the exhaust. I took it to a repair shop and the gave me a TSB on the problem. I have learned since that this is a common issue but is not deemed a recall. This issue is definitely a safety issue and I need Ford to repair my car at no cost to me. If my engine blows in traffic this could lead to serious injury or death to me or to others. It is a 19-2375 bulletin.

Potential Consequences:
My 2018 Ford Escape Titanium 2.0L Ecoboost motor needs a complete replacement due to a manufacturer defect. The car presented with an engine misfire code of P0303 on July 2, 2021 and again on July 8, 2021. Upon inspection of the engine from Ford, it was determined that there was coolant leaking into the cylinder bores resulting in needing a complete engine replacement. I was informed that the more the vehicle is driven the more it would put the driver and passengers at risk because eventually the motor would seize while driving. Ford has refused to take responsibility in repairing this manufacturer defect which puts me and any passengers at risk of bodily harm.

You may want to investigate this. I own a 2018 Ford Escape which I purchased new. Two week ago the left rear passenger window was broken out. As I was in Idaho at the time, and had to drive back to Washington State, I drove the car down the highway at 55 MPH with the sunroof open and all other windows closed. No problem. I then closed the sunroof and the car shook violently to the point I thought the back door might be ripped off. We seldom open the back windows so I never experienced this before but it could cause an accident.

Potential Consequences:
Black mold on my cabin air filter. There appears to be a design defect with my 2018 escape (4 cyl) that does not allow the ac condenser to properly drain. This causes the cabin air filter to become water logged, which leads to the growth of black mold, which leads to the black mold being released into the cabin. Black mold in the cabin is definitely a safety issue. Each time I bring the problem to the local dealer they say all they can do is charge me another $50 to replace the cabin air filter.
