The hatchback of the affected vehicles may be unlatched with a single press of the interior latch release button. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 206, "Door Locks and Door Retention Components."

MY CAR WON'T SHIFT CORRECTLY AND I WAS TOLD INACCURATE INFORMATION BY TWO SEPARATE FORD DEALERSHIPS. THE CAR WON'T PROPERLY SHIFT WHEN GAINING SPEED AND FEELS LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL. MY CAR DOES NOT SHIFT WELL ALL ALL TYPES OF ROADS, INCLUDING CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AND AN ONGOING ISSUE, NOT ONE OCCURRENCE. AFTER RESEARCHING FORD FOCUS CLUTCHES, THERE APPEARS TO BE A RECALL ON SOME VEHICLES. I WAS TOLD MY CAR IS NOT PART OF THIS RECALL. HOWEVER, MY CAR IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUES AS NOTED IN THE RECALL AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A POOR QUALITY CLUTCH MANUFACTURING ISSUES ON ALL FORD FOCUSES, NOT JUST THE SPECIFIC GROUP THAT WAS INITIALLY LISTED.
