Safety Issue:

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2010-2015, 2017 Buick Enclave, 2010-2019 Chevrolet Traverse, and 2011-2016 GMC Acadia vehicles. The side curtain air bags may not be properly attached.

Potential Risk:
Unsecured side curtain air bags may not perform as intended, increasing the risk of injury.
FREE Recall Solution:
GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, if necessary, realign or replace the weld nuts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 24, 2021. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, and GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N202321200.

Safety Issue:

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Chevrolet Cruze and Buick LaCrosse, 2018-2020 Chevrolet Equinox, Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Terrain, 2018 Chevrolet Malibu, 2019-2020 Buick Encore, Buick Enclave, Cadillac XT4, Chevrolet Blazer and GMC Acadia, and 2020 Cadillac XT6 vehicles. The start/stop accumulator endcap may have missing bolts.

Potential Risk:
Missing bolts on the start-stop accumulator endcap could result in a transmission oil leak and may progress to a loss of propulsion, increasing the risk of a crash. A transmission fluid leak in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of fire.
FREE Recall Solution:
GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the start-stop transmission accumulator and replace it if any bolts are missing, free of charge. The recall began December 15, 2020. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267, Buick Customer service at 1-866-608-8080, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. Potential Consequences:

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WITHOUT THE DRIVERS SEAT BELT SECURELY LATCHED, THE HILL ASCENT AND DESCENT FUNCTION BECAME INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS ON AN INCLINE, THE HILL DESCENT FEATURE FAILED AND THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS AND STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WENTWORTH MOTORS DEALER, (139 FRANKLIN ST, DANSVILLE, NY 14437, (585) 204-0905) AND IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE FEATURE WOULD BE DISENGAGED IF THE SEAT BELT WAS NOT SECURELY FASTENED. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO FIX FOR THE FAILURE HOWEVER, TO PREVENT THE FAILURE THE SEAT BELT SHOULD BE WORN AT ALL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THIS HAS AFFECTED THE ABILITY TO LOCK THE VEHICLE, AFFECTS THE BATTERY LEVEL, AND ALSO HAS BEEN REPORTED TO CAUSE INSTANCES WHERE THE VEHICLE OPERATES AS IF IT IS IN NEUTRAL INSTEAD OF PARK...ALLOWING IT TO ROLL ALTHOUGH SHIFTER IS IN PARK. UPON CALLING CHEVY, THIS IS ONLY COVERED UNDER THEIR BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY WHICH IS UP IN 36,000 MILES OR 3 YEARS. THIS ISSUE MOST COMMONLY OCCURS BEFORE THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY EXPIRES, YET IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. MANY ISSUES FROM THE DAY THAT I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE. 1) NOTICED FRONT WINDSHIELD AND OR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW HAVING LOTS OF AIR NOISE COMING IN AND WIND CAN BE HEARD AS IM DRIVING. 2) THE AUTO START DOES NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY WHEN GOING TURNS OFF AND ABOUT TO DRIVE OFF IT TUMBLES/SHAKES. 3) HEARING A NOISE ON THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT PART OF THE VEHICLE THAT CAN BE HEARD ON THE INSIDE AS IM DRIVING. SORT OF A KNOCKING RATTLING SOUND.
