A concern as been identified with the supplementary restraint system in certain Jaguar XF Sportbrake vehicles. Vehicles in this condition may not meet the required frontal airbag protection requirements during certain low speed impact scenarios.

According to the defect report filed with the NHTSA, the calibration of the restraints control module does not provide the correct fire signals in the event of a crash. The driver and front passenger seat occupants could experience an increased risk of injury during a crash.

Jaguar will contact owners, instructing them to return to their Jaguar approved repairer to have the airbag software updated. Owners may contact Jaguar customer service at 1-800-452-4827 for more information.
