VW Passat Leaking Diesel Fuel
Volkswagen is recalling certain 2012 Passat vehicles because over time they could be susceptible to fuel leaks. According to VW, some vehicles may have been built with a diesel fuel filter element that does not seal correctly. VW will be notifying owners of the problem starting in May, and will replace the diesel fuel filter elements with a new one. Faulty Fuel Pumps May Lead To Volkswagen Recall
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is currently investigating complaints from over 150 Volkswagen owners about engine problems. Loss of power and stalling engines has lead the NHTSA to suspect a failing high pressure fuel pump. While contaminates have been found in the fuel systems of some vehicles, it is not clear whether contaminates are the cause or the result of fuel pump failure. The investigation covers Volkswagen 2009-2010 Jetta, Golf, and Audi A3 vehicles with TDI clean diesel engines. Continue reading
Ignition Coil Problems In VW Passats
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is intensifying an investigation into potential ignition coil fire issues that could affect almost half a million Volkswagen Passats with four cylinder turbo engines. Last August, the agency opened a preliminary evaluation and found that the problem could be more serious than first thought. Ignition coils have been a problem for the German automaker in the past, and the intensified investigation by the NHTSA expands the number of vehicles covered, and brings Volkswagen one step closer to issuing a recall.
