VW Recalls Routan Hub Assemblies

Volkswagen has announced a recall for a small number of 2012 Routan minivans built between November 15-21, 2011. According to the recall report filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the right hand rear hub and bearing assemblies may have not been fully machined. The assembly could wear out prematurely and and the wheel could separate from the vehicle unexpectedly. This recall is similar to a Chrysler recall announced last week, where certain Chrysler and Dodge minivans were recalled for the same problem. Chrysler Defective Suspension Assemblies

Chrysler has announced a recall for certain 2012 Chrysler Town and Country and 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan minivans for a manufacturing problem with the rear suspension. According to Chrysler, a small number of right hand rear hub and bearing assemblies could wear out prematurely because they may have not been fully machined properly. Honda Experiences Steering Problems On CR-V

Honda and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced that the 2006 Honda CR-V will be recalled for problems with the passenger side front lower arm bushing collar. According to Honda, the weld strength in this area is insufficient for the amount of vibration, and could break. If the collar separates from the arm, the driver could be left without steering. Honda will be notifying CR-V owner of the problem this month, and will inspect and replace affected parts as necessary. Ford Focus Suspension Separation

Ride Control LLC is recalling certain 2000-2005 Ford Focus vehicles that have been fitted with after market ReadyMount suspension assemblies. (Part Numbers: 746641MT AND 746646MT) According to the recall report, these assemblies could be missing a washer necessary to prevent the ready mount assembly from pulling apart at the top. If the assembly separates during installation, the installer could be injured and if separation occurs while the vehicle is being driven, it could result in loss of control of the vehicle. Ride Control will notify owners starting this month, and will set up procedures to inspect, repair and replace any affected parts. The part numbers affected include: Gabriel G56944 and Gabriel G56945, and privately branded PartsMaster G68944 and G68945. Damon RV Recall For Potential Fire Hazard

Damon is recalling certain 2007-2011 Challenger and 2005-2007 Intruder motor homes for a problem that could result in a fire or explosion. The RV builder found that these motor homes do not have enough clearance between the rear suspension leaf springs and the liquid propane fuel tank.
