Mazda Recalls 2009-2010 Mazda 6 Vehicles

Mazda had announced a recall for some 2009-2010 Mazda6 vehicles manufactured between April 2008 to February 2010. The problem is being blamed on a restriction in the vent line of the evaporator canister that may lead to excessively negative pressure in the fuel tank when the emission control system purges the vapors in the canister. Repeated purging of this pressure under normal operation could stress the fuel tank eventually leading to cracks and a potential fuel leak. Dealers will inspect and clean up the canister vent line, and install a spring to prevent the vent line restriction.
