Reverse Decision In Honda Fuel Economy Case
A court decision to award attorney Heather Peters almost $10,000, over inaccurate fuel economy claims for her 2006 Honda Civic has been reversed by a Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge last Thursday. The case received national attention when Peters opted out of a class action suit to pursue her own small claims case. Gray said that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) fuel economy ratings are posted so consumers can compare fuel efficiency among vehicles, but the ratings don’t take into account driving conditions and the condition of the vehicle. This problem is not a recall, but a effort by GM to offer a more consistent charging experience. Earlier this year, GM announced that they will be adding steel plates around the Volt battery after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) experienced battery fires three weeks after crash tests were done on the hybrid vehicle. Continue reading
