Reverse Decision In Honda Fuel Economy Case
A court decision to award attorney Heather Peters almost $10,000, over inaccurate fuel economy claims for her 2006 Honda Civic has been reversed by a Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge last Thursday. The case received national attention when Peters opted out of a class action suit to pursue her own small claims case. Peters was awarded reparations in February, but Honda appealed the courts decision and it was reversed by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Dudley Gray. Gray said that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) fuel economy ratings are posted so consumers can compare fuel efficiency among vehicles, but the ratings don’t take into account driving conditions and the condition of the vehicle. Headlight Problem For Honda SUVs
Honda will be recalling certain 2002-2004 CR-V and 2003 Pilot sport utility vehicles (SUVs) for an electrical problem with the low beam headlights. According to Honda, tension on the switch wiring harness could prematurely wear the terminal increasing its electrical resistance. Honda Experiences Steering Problems On CR-V
Honda and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced that the 2006 Honda CR-V will be recalled for problems with the passenger side front lower arm bushing collar. According to Honda, the weld strength in this area is insufficient for the amount of vibration, and could break. If the collar separates from the arm, the driver could be left without steering. Honda will be notifying CR-V owner of the problem this month, and will inspect and replace affected parts as necessary. Honda Experiences Airbag Problems
Honda has announced a recall for certain 2012 Accord and Crosstour vehicles, for side curtain airbags that may not inflate during an accident. According to the recall report filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), some side curtain airbag inflators may have been manufactured out of specifications. Honda will inspect and replace any driver’s side and/or passenger’s side curtain airbags as required, starting February 10, 2012.
