Liftgate Problems In Chrysler Minivans
Chrysler has announced that they will be recalling certain 2012 Chrysler Town and Country and 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles because drivers could be injured by the liftgate. According to Chrysler, some minivans may have been built with a right side liftgate pinch sensor that does not function properly. During the final closing stages an increased force may be needed to stop the gate from closing, increasing the chance of the door closing on an appendage. Owners wanting more information about the problem can contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403. Continue reading

Chrysler Electrical Overheating Problem
In a report filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Chrysler said that they will be recalling certain 2011-2012 Chrysler 300 and 2011-2012 Dodge Charger vehicles for an overheating electrical issue. The plastic insert surrounding the power distribution center fuse holder could become distorted due to thermal expansion and contraction. The distortion could stop power from getting to the anti-locking braking (ABS) and electronic stability control (ESC) systems leading them to work intermittently. The lack of ABS/ECS could increase the chance of an accident. Chrysler will correct the problem by relocation the fuse to a cooler area. Owners wanting more information about the problem can contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403. Continue reading

According to GM spokesperson Randal Fox, the new cord will be more durable and able to withstand higher temperatures. This problem is not a recall, but a effort by GM to offer a more consistent charging experience. Earlier this year, GM announced that they will be adding steel plates around the Volt battery after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) experienced battery fires three weeks after crash tests were done on the hybrid vehicle.
