Continental Tire Recall Affects Ford F-250 And F-350 Trucks
Continental Tire has announced a recall on tires that may experience uneven wear, vibration, and separation between the belt edges. These tires were manufactured between May 2007 to September 2008 and sold as aftermarket tires as well as installed as original equipment on some 2008-2009 Ford F-250 and F-350 trucks. Poor Sidewall Performance Urges Hankook Tire Recall
Hankook Tire America Corp. (HTAC) has announced a recall for almost 20,000 Dynapro AS P-metric radial tires (size P265/70R17 113S RH03). According to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) the tires failed to satisfy the company’s internal performance standard when the tires were subjected to extreme conditions. The problem is being blamed on premature wearing of the sidewalls which could lead to a blowout and a potential accident. Continue reading
BMW X5 And X6 Recall
BMW has announced a recall on their X5 and X6 Sport Activity Vehicles (SAV) built between April through May of 2010. These vehicles are equipped with 20 inch wheels, but are labeled as 19 inch. As a result, the tire pressure is incorrectly labeled. Incorrectly inflated tires could lead to increased tire wear and reduced handling performance. BMW will notify owners and supply new labels which can be installed by the owners or their local BMW dealer. Owners can contact BMW at 1-800-525-7417. Continue reading
Goodyear Recalls SP193 Tires
Goodyear has announced a recall of 12,000 Dunlop SP193 (sizes 295/75R22.5) commercial trailer tires manufactured between February to June of 2010. The problem is being blamed on a defect with the treading a belting which could result in loss of tire pressure. Continue reading
